this can probably be filed under "like duh"... but do yourself a favor right now and go buy the new cat power album JUKEBOX that was just released on tuesday. if you download the deluxe edition from itunes you'll get her cover of "breathless" by nick cave! her choice in covers will always blow my mind. also on the deluxe version is a crucial cover of patsy clines "she's got you". it's hard picking favorites on any of cat powers albums, but her version of james browns "lost someone" comes pretty god damn close.

never a gear crisis in new york

although we were too early to see chloe's line which comes out on feb 4th, opening ceremony was a real big hit with han and i. it's very rare that i'll spend this much money on myself in one store.. but i had a really great way of justifying things like that in ny. like, i'm making the decision to not live there, and that's saving me a shitload of money, so buying these shoes was the least i could do to be a good person to myself.

i also got a grey dress with a cut out open back. i'll definitely be visiting the la store in early feb.

encinitas vs NYC

8 reasons why new york is great and i should think about moving there:

1) they have something called morrissey night every sunday
2) i miss winters
3) ny has milwaukee type things like squirrel nests and salty sidewalks
4) i hate strip malls
5) i really love drinking, eating and walking
6) endless things to do and see and be
7) inspiring and challenging
8) no surfers

10 reasons why i should probably never think about moving there:

1) morrissey night sucked
2) i like my space
3) i really like my boyfriend
4) my bona drag boxes would be too expensive to store
5) it would be hard to find somewhere to have badminton parties
6) i would be drunk every single night and i might die
7) i like quiet times a lot more than i think
8) i'm already happy
9) the beach is pretty cool i guess
10) burritos
11) i can always just go to LA if i need some cityness

HIBERNATION

these are the times of our lives

it only makes sense that my two favorite people gave me my two favorite presents for christmas this year. hannah gave me this chandelier lamp that hangs at my bedside.

and my boyfriend bought me a trip to new york! i've never been there. and i can not wait. hannah and i leave very shortly... any recommendations?

he wants to buy a minivan. that's normal.

beginnings

my special spiritual friend chad bartie told me that 2008 is supposed to be the year of change. and the year for karma to return. overall, it's supposed to be a pretty good year for everyone. my resolutions for this year:

quit my job to work on bona drag full time
don't drink more than two glasses of anything per night. unless i'm at smiths night in NY. or in NY in general. or with hannah in general.
buy a house so i can get a kitten and paint my living room green
eat more raw foods
finally get my morrissey tattoo
spend more time choreographing interpretive dances for john
write more letters to my aunt clara
go on a tropical/waterfallish real vacation with john
drink more coffee and do more sleeping in
do things to my hair like ginger in casino
start painting the collection of portraits that will hang in my green living room
hang out with casey more
