she & him

zooey deschanel and m. ward just put out an album under the name SHE & HIM. i was never a fan of m. ward but i'm trying to like this one. zooey sings just like you'd think she would.zooey is also starring in the next shyamalan movie THE HAPPENING, with mark wahlberg, who is also tight.

i love 'em, they're like a front porch hot southern summer day version of rilo kiley. well done to both he and her.

i'm not trying to hate here, but in listening to she & him i'm not so excited. i like zooey--she's so cute and her voice is nice--but i can't help but feel the she & him thing is solely a product of her preexisting celebrity and not the quality of the music. i haven't heard the whole album, though, so i am open to being corrected.

(and in response to the beautiful tiniest spark, if she sees this: you're absolutely right. WE HAVE A DEADLY PETROLEUM PROBLEM. <3 <3)
