We are huge fans of Kim Krans.. She's an artist, musician, singer, cabin-maker, the lady behind The Wild Unknown, and most importantly really fun to have a drink with. Her band, called Family Band, just released a new EP today as well as a music video for each of the 5 songs. Listen and watch here. The first one is quickly becoming my new fave.
We also just added a couple different prints that Kim made especially for Bona Drag to the shop today. She hand water colored each print! A really great gift for Morrissey fans.
If you're new to the sounds of Family Band, I suggest you watch this video. It's the second song on our current free mixtape, and the video is so chilling it gives me goosebumps every time.

MOOD RING
The Pamela Love mood rings just arrived and I'm wearing one right now. Unlike the mood rings from the 70's, where the wearer might depict the mood/color of the ring.. this ring depicts your mood. And I've been feeling extra awesome lately. Been feeling like having a glass of wine with my best friend ALL DAY LONG.

SHAKUHACHI IS HERE
We brought in a million different styles because I simply couldn't narrow it down. These silhouettes are so very flattering.. and pretty much everything I look for in a dress.

INTRODUCING MANIAMANIA JEWELRY
Bronze and silver metals enshrine crystal stones of Black Tourmaline and Aquamarine across a range of rings, cuffs, earrings, charms and neck pieces. The collection visits the iconography of ancient Egypt and the evolving aesthetic, mood and music of pop deity David Bowie. Inspirations are derived directly from the icon - an image of a young Bowie dressed as a Sphinx in 1969 by photographer Brian Ward, the fabled Story of how the colour of one eye was changed when he was hit in the eye by a hand with a heavy ring, his alleged fascination with Egyptology, aspects of the film 'Labyrinth', and lyrics from the song 'Rebel, Rebel'.
Two short films featuring Bambi Northwood-Blyth and directed by Fiona McGee, encapsulated the mood and spirit of the collection. View them here.

SAMANTHA PLEET'S PLEATS
This is the first collection where Samantha has included pleats! We just added two styles in the amazing "paper bag" mud silk fabric. We asked the lovely Estonia sisters to photograph these for us..
The video Samantha produced for this collection is so worth watching. It portraits a trip to Samantha's grandmother's house in Philly (holy crap I need to marry that house!!) and they edited it to fit perfectly to a great Beach House song. It makes me want to plan a getaway trip with Hannah. A still from the video in my favorite room. Watch the video here.

ONWARD
Danielle De Vincenzo is the designer behind Onward Into the Future jewelry. Her and her man Jeffertitti just had a great feature at Stylelikeu, in their home in Topanga Canyon. Danielle used to be a dancer, but she now spends her spare time behind the drum set in their band, Jeffertitti's Nile (which is on our current MIXTAPE).
Jeffertitti says "I've been playing music my whole life. I can play almost any instrument. I've taken lessons. I teach kids to play music, and that helps me learn. I teach them down the hill by the beach."
Danielle says "Scout is the best store in LA for vintage clothes. Whenever I go there I find the most amazing, magical things." We agree.. Joey at Scout has impeccable taste. Danielle actually used to design the Scout clothing line with Joey years ago.

PAMELA LOVE ON THE SELBY
Who doesn't love peeking inside someone's home? The Selby recently featured Pamela Love's house where she live with her cute boyfriend, photographer/musician Jordan Sullivan, and a couple of cats.
The handwritten question part is always fun to see. Hot sauce and cats? Cute. Although I have to say that it was the most surprising thing that she is a cat person. Guess it's because I imagined she probably had a pet wolf. Or a peacock.
You can tell she is a collector, and I love that there seems to be something interesting to look at in every nook. You could basically pick up any item in her house, drape it over your body... and look amazing.
