SURFACE OF THE MOON

Photographer Mikaylah Bowman recently did a shoot for us and the new Samantha Pleet SS12 Collection.  She took her friend Nadia to a place called Enchanted Rock in Texas on a hot, windy day. "It was really special to photograph Nadia - She grew up in the same trailer park/projects area of Austin that I did.  She's only 17 and has started layin down some amazing rap tracks; I think she's slated to be the next Lung Leg or something incredibly special.  While we were shooting Nadia kept commenting on the landscape of Enchanted Rock saying "We're walking on the surface of the moon!"

OUR KIND OF JOURNEY...

The Samantha Pleet S/S 2012 collection takes you on a journey to a timeless realm where ethereal beings don airy dresses, structured separates, and misty swimwear. The sun-washed, tonal color palette of floating silks and light linens hover over the body like soft armour. Take flight with clothes that are at once familiar, being rooted in history and traditional tailoring, but are unlike anything seen before. Whimsical and geometric prints designed in-house, and modernist details including unexpected openings, knots, twists, and weaving, reveal another dimension in Pleet's classical silhouettes for this season.

WEDDING PROPOSAL

I am going to ask Heather to Marry me.
Just so someone I know gets to wear the new "Wiccan" dress by Lover.
I will wear the "Tuxedo" dress and the bridesmaids can wear the black "Gothic" dress.
We will register at Bed Bath and Beyond.

PAMELA LOVE SS12

Pamela Love's Spring 2012 collection has arrived.  You can see patterns of Moroccan architecture in the Zellij wood cut out necklaces and she must have been channeling North African Berber tribes when styling her presentation.  Why haven't I worn my hair wrapped in a scarf under a hat yet?

REALLY SHAKUHACHI?

I will hold Shakuhachi accountable for me not having enough money to buy a house, buy groceries or send my children, that i do not have, to college.
