BODKIN SWEATER

Bodkin may have made the most perfect sweater ever.

I don't care if it's still warm outside, it makes me so excited for cold weather to hurry up and get here. Bodkin took the best elements of an oversized sweater and added details that are interesting without being overly designed and distracting. I would like to think they had these things pinned up on their inspiration board:

I also really love that they posted an ode to Louise Bourgeois (1911-2010) on their blog. She's one of my favorite artists of all time because she made the most amazingly creepy artworks appear uniquely feminine. Bodkin's philosophy seems to follow suit with their subtly unexpected details and thoughtful approach to women's clothing.

Introducing Tiffany Harker, the newest blogger at Bona Drag. Tiffany has been a part of the Bona Drag team from the beginning, and she's the best story teller you'll ever meet. She lives in San Francisco, is a gallery associate at Crown Point Press, and helps Bona Drag with editorial projects while eating bagels in the evenings. She has impeccable taste in pretty much everything you should care about: art, music, fashion, films, books, eating, dying, laughing, crying. Plus, her grandmother was a coca cola model.

IOSSELLIANI

Maybe my favorite Iosselliani ring yet.. plus we brought in some earrings too! skulls and eagle heads: the perfect amount of dainty elegance for a girl that doesn't do dainty elegance.
Dossier recently did a little interview with the Italian designers behind Iosselliani: Roberta Paolucci and Paolo Giacomelli. Iosselliani is Paolo's great grandmother's family name. Read the interview here.

I pulled out my old Nikon's last week and have been using film again. Real film makes me feel like I'm drinking a Miller High Life. Been having the funnest time ever. Peep the new flair too.. John saw this necklace and he said "when will it end?". It won't John.. it won't.

MUMMIFICATION OF MOMENTS

Mikaylah Bowman photographed the new SOCIETY FOR RATIONAL DRESS dresses for us. I'm adding the uncropped versions of these photos here since I think the originals are so stunning.
Mik Bow is 20 years old, lives in Texas, has a severely striking face and also owns the best vintage chainmail dress ever (below). She's a self taught artist/photographer, is currently a wardrobe designer (has worked under Spike Jonze!), and has taught experimental film making to high school students. a great article in the current elle features the amazing totem dress by LINDSEY THORNBURG. i'm not sure i'll be able to take this one off once it arrives in the shop later this month..
